Western Horse Saddles
www.aafke-art.com I have trained as a westernsaddle maker. It started off with me wanting the perfect saddle for my horse The Tarq. But I wanted to do the carving myself. So I learned leathercarving. And why not learn leather sowing as well? and in the end I trained as a saddler. In this slideshow I show th Tarq being measured, and the tree fitted, and some of the stages of making the saddle. The saddle is very tough and has endured many hardships. It keeps looking better the more use it gets! The music is ghostriders in the sky, by Johnnie Cash
