In this video you are watching Merlin lunge counterclockwise on verbal cues. This is the first time he has been lunged directly off of the bit rather than a rope halter under a western headstall. This is also the first time he has had the dressage saddle on. Normally I have ridden and worked him in an Australian saddle. Begrudgingly for sale, Merlin is a Friesian sport horse gelding registered with the FSHR. Now a three year old, I have owned him since he was a yearling and have known him since birth. My intentions were for him to be my dressage horse, but I simply cannot get the time we need to go in that direction. We are trail riders first, and since we ride with gaited horses, we prefer our trail horses to be gaited also. Up until this video, Merlin had three rides in the round pen and one gentle 6 hour trail ride without a single hiccup. Rides in a myler french link dee. Went on a 3 day/2 night camping trip and stayed on the picket line with no trouble. He is a superb guy. Current coggins and always kept up to date on deworming. Puppy dog personality (will crawl in your lap for beer or butterscotch), good manners, quick learner, curious and not afraid of anything. Accustomed to traffic, tractors, dogs. Easy to catch (follows you all over the pasture), great for the farrier (currently shod), great with baths, good with clippers, stands tied, loads easy and backs out of the trailer, stands to be mounted, lunges on voice commands, working in sidereins, beautiful mover ...

Flank girth rings installed on a Australian stock saddle?

Is it possible to get flank girth rings installed on an Australian Stock Saddle that isn't already equipped with them? I heard some saddlers will chuck a ring on stock saddles but I don't know if this is true.

I ask because it's not a necessity so I won't buy a stock saddle that already has them.
